Lots of full, ripe fruit and real potential, from a classed growth which has raised its game impressively in the past few vintages by concentrating on the best part of the vineyard and cutting yields. Drink untill 2020.

Château Belgrave is situated in Saint-Laurent, bordering the Saint-Julien appellation, with just a stream separating the two; it is one of the oldest wines in the Médoc. In 1855 it was classified as a 5th Grand Cru because of the exceptional quality of its deep gravelly soil. Château Belgrave has remarkable diversity in its soil. The two hillocks, which rise to 23 and 26 metres, are made up of gravel and pebbles washed up thousands of years ago by the Garonne river, and which lie on a bed of clay. This type of soil is favourable to the later-ripening grape varieties such as Cabernets and Petit-Verdot which, following restructuring of the vineyard, now covers 3% of the surface area. There is less gravel towards the foot of the hillocks. At the base the soil is a mixture of gravel and sand, an efficient filter, and some clay, particularly adapted to growing Merlot.

Amarone is a wine of some importance, since it is the product of excellent and exclusive climate, vines and special techniques.
The 'Acinatico' is dry ruby red flavorful wine. High in alcohol and full-bodied, with a powerful taste and bouquet, it's a rare example of a text-book Amarone made with heart and experience.
