Cable Bay
Cable Bay Vineyards was established in 1996 and is owned by a small group of wine professionals who are all passionate about creating world-class wines. The company's goal is to produce outstanding wines from two of New Zealand's finest wine-producing areas - Waiheke Island and Marlborough. From each region, Cable Bay Vineyards produces wines that it believes best reflect the potential of that particular area - Chardonnay and Bordeaux varieties from Waiheke Island and Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from Marlborough.

Distant Land
In 1922 Peter Fredatovich arrived in New Zealand from his homeland in Croatia looking for a new and prosperous life. He eventually purchased a block of land west of the city at the foothills of the Waitakere Ranges which he cleared and planted with vines. In 1937 he established his winery which is still located on it's original site next to the Home Block Vineyard.
